CANOE POLO

Canoe Polo is a fast dynamic game played in closed top kayaks. Its has a conbination of skills similar to Basketball and Netball combined with Kayaking.  Teams of 5 move the ball up the court and score by throwing the ball in the opositions goals.  See video below.

Competition
Teams are entered in Schools’ Canoe Polo League which is played on a Wednesday from 4pm -6pm. 

Term 1 2024 

7 Feb: Have a go day  - You will be shown the basics of the game - there is no cost 

14 Feb: Teams finalised and competition starts 

Cost  ​​​​​​​

$10 per player for the seven weeks of games (very cheap sport)

$30 affiliation fee which is paid once per year

$15 gear hire for the term if needed. This is the same price een if you don't need the full kit. 

Registrations must be completed on Sporty Web page by Friday the 9th February 

​​​​​​​A one off sports levy of $20 will also be applied to all students' school accounts to cover administration costs.

Equipment
All game equipment such as boat, paddle, spray skirt, helmet, lifejacket and balls are supplied for the games and trainings at the lake. 

You will need swimwear to get wet, a non-cotton t-shirt, towel and a warm change of clothes. 

Location
All games are played at the Roto Kohatu Reserve out by the airport. See map. 

Transport
Transport to the games are the responsibility of the student
