Swimmers compete in the School Sport Canterbury run Swimming Championships against other Canterbury Secondary Schools.

Cashmere does not run a school swimming event.  

Canterbury Secondary School Champs 2026

There will be a charge to cover staff, transport and entry.

Keep an eye on the notices for meetings about the Canterbury Champs.  We do not hold a school swimming sports so any capable student is able to enter.

Please come and see us in the Sports Office if you would like to enter this event.

Students may purchase a Cashmere swimming cap from the Sports Office for $10.   ​​​​​​​

OPEN WATER SWIMMING

This summer we will again be running the CHS Open Water Swim Team, below are some details of what we have planned for the 2025/26 open water season.

By way of background, as a school team, we have a range of competent social swimmers and
competitive swimmers, from Year 9 to Year 13, and our focus is on encouraging these students to
achieve their own personal goals in the open water, in a supportive and fun environment.

The events we will be participating in are publicly available events, run by local swim coaches Fit &
Abel, and as a school team we also have two coaching sessions scheduled with Fit & Abel at
Waltham Outdoor Pool.

All swimmers must sign up with Fit & Abel and enter one of the Lake Tahi events by Friday 7th November, prior to attending the first coached session on 21st November. This will automatically
prompt you to enter your emergency contact details and sign the Fit & Abel waiver which is required
prior to attending any Fit & Abel event. Click on the link below for further information and links to enter.
