New World Premiership ROUND 2 | vs Halswell United 27.03.21

Comments from Cashmere Technical Head coach Dan Schwarz

I would like to wish a warm welcome to Stu and his Halswell team, as well as new and familiar faces to our first home game of the 2021 season.

With new rules and regulations set in place for the upcoming months and a big carrot comes the end of it. New challenges are now in front of us to try and deal with. But, in the same old tech spirit we will keep taking things one game at a time and we won't be looking past Halswell on Saturday afternoon. Like Selwyn last weekend we expect a hardworking and organised team that will be tough to break down. We hope you enjoy the game and get behind us as we try to do so.

Join us for a drink at the aftermatch, as we welcome new players, staff, fans and support into our community.

New World Premiership ROUND 3 | vs Christchurch United 2.04.2021

Comments from Cashmere Technical Head Coach Dan Schwarz

Two wins from two brings us to Yaldhurst to take on Chch Utd. They have started the season very well with two from two, have recruited well and I’m sure they will be as ready as we will be for today’s match-up. Playing against familiar faces brings its own challenges but I’m sure for 90 minutes family and friendships will be forgotten. I hope you enjoy the game and make some noise. Happy Easter.

Enjoy the Game.

Comments from Christchurch United Head Coach Danny Haligan

Even though it is very early days in the league, we are all aware that this seasons MPL is only 14 rounds so the first 4 or 5 rounds are particularly important for gaining momentum.

After the first two rounds we have been delighted to have come away with 2 wins and we now look forward to the next challenge ahead of us today.

As is to be expected, Cashmere come into this game with winning momentum on their side so we should expect a top class game between two form teams.

Last week was a tough encounter for us with the underfoot and overhead conditions makingit extremely difficult to get any rhythm to our game. It was pleasing to see some maturity from our lads when it came to game management.

Hopefully the scheduling of todays game means that plenty of football fans are able to attend and we create a really enjoyable atmosphere.

Best of luck to both teams but we all know thatonly one team can take home the Easter Eggs at the end of 90 minutes.

Enjoy the game.

New World Premiership ROUND 4 | vs Coastal Spirit 10.04.2021

Comments from Cashmere Technical Coach Dan Schwarz

I would first like to extend a warm welcome to Ekow and his lads for what is our first official home game of the 2021 season. Ekow brings a team that is full of confidence after a fine start to the campaign so I’m sure a good game will be witnessed by all. We have had a good week of training and finding a bit more rhythm with each outing so hopefully we can be a little bit better again and get over the line today. Congrats to Pete and the WPL team for getting their season off to start with a good win and congrats to Glenn and our reserve team for making so many senior debuts in last weekends game. I’m sure results will follow. Finally, we welcome everyone back to our club rooms, post match, to honour Hutchie for his years of hard work, support and success. One of our club values is to “leave it better than you found it” Hutchie, as John did before you, you massively achieved this. TFL

Comments from Coastal Spirit Coach Ekow Quainoo

Good afternoon and thank you to Cashmere Technical for hosting.

I'm sure it's nice for all Cashmere members to be back at Garrick Park for the first time in 2021. I personally really enjoy playing here.

Going on to my 7th year coaching in the MPL I think this is the most exciting season for club football. Although I agree the new rules were pushed onto everybody abruptly, I am looking forward to seeing some young Cashmere Academy players being put in the spotlight. Something I'm sure Fred Simpson and Glen Lapslie find pleasing.

We have 6 under 20 players in our squad today and our group this year I feel is the strongest we have ever had. Although very young and obviously a work in progress you will see a team that's enthusiastic, hard working that posses great speed.

Today we are asking a new look young team to come to Garrick Park and dominate possession whilst not allowing them to play.

Lastly, from one young coach to another I'd like to wish my counter part Dan Schwarz all the very best for his coaching journey. Nice to see Cashmere promote from within to keep their winning culture ticking however for us we would like to see him have a difficult day today haha enjoy the show everybody and hope to see you afterwards.

New World Premiership ROUND 8 | vs Selwyn United 8.05.2021

Comments from Cashmere Technical Coach Dan Schwarz

Welcome to Chris and his Selwyn squad to Garrick park for this round 8 game. There is a few former tech players in the Selwyn ranks, so a particular welcome back to you boys as well as reserve players and fans from both teams. In our first fixture, we needed the help of a few penalties in order to break down a very organised and stubborn Selwyn. We know how dangerous they can be on the counter attack and we know we will have to perform well to get anything out of the game.

We are coming into this game on the back of arguably our best performance this season, with a 5-1 win away at Nelson. We worked tirelessly throughout and was at our clinical best in front of goal. The aim now, is to carry on reaching that level.

Thank you again to our brilliant supporters who made the long trip north and enjoyed the day with us, it is much more satisfying on the road with you lot along side us, cheering us on. We all appreciate it massively.Enjoy the game. Make some noise and make it back to the club rooms. Cheers

Comments from Cashmere Technical Coach Chris Brown

Thank you to Cash Tech and Dan for hosting us today for what I'm sure will be a very entertaining MPL game. I, the coaching staff and the players will go into this weekend looking to take something from the game and cause an upset. This will be a hard task playing against a very strong Tech side who will no doubt be eager to continue their unbeaten form, meaning we'll have to be at our best to cause an upset. I hope everyone who makes the effort to come and watch on Saturday enjoys the game!

Kind Regards,Chris Brown | Director of Football

New World Premiership ROUND 14 | vs Nelson Suburbs 3.07.2021

Comments from Cashmere Technical's Head Coach Dan SChwarz

Welcome again to Neil, the Nelson Staff, Players, and supporters for this round 14 MPL Clash.

We met only two weekends ago in the Chatham Cup which turned into an extremely exciting game

for any neutral in attendance, but maybe not for the 2 sets of players and staff. As I`m sure both lots

would be equally happy and frustrated with different moments in the game.

Nelson come here knowing that their southern league qualification will be in their own hands, so, we

are expecting a very tough game, but we have our home patch to defend so I`m sure our boys will be

up for the task.

As always, Nelson brings a group that is very well organised and can punish any team with their

quality going forward- we are coming off a very impressive win against Nomads- one of which I

thought was built on a very solid defensive display and clinical finishing at the other end.

Hopefully, you enjoy the game and come back to the Oak and Ferry for the after match

Cheers
