Central Football Match Officials to control Grand Final.

Left to Right: Edward Cook, Matthew Conger, Mark Rule

Central Football’s representation at the 2020/21 ISPS Handa Premiership Grand Final this Sunday between Auckland City and Team Wellington will include Manawatu based match officials Matthew Conger, Mark Rule and Edward Cook.

2020 marked a challenging year for all of us and in refereeing provided very limited opportunity for match officials to operate at the highest level of the game. Continued focus mentally, commitment to physical training and investment in understanding tactics that players and coaches look to implement are all part of being a successful match official.

Central Football Referee Manager, Antony Riley congratulated the trio on the recent significant appointment to the grand final:

“I want to congratulate Matthew, Mark and Edward on their allocation to the premier match of the New Zealand Football men’s domestic competition.  This is a great reward for their hard work not throughout the recent season but of many seasons previous. I would like to wish them all the best for the match." he said.
