As part of McDonald’s Junior Football this year, New Zealand Football and McDonald’s are celebrating the 6000+ volunteer coaches who help 50,000 Kiwi Kids enjoy football each season. The McDonald’s Junior Football Coach of the Year is a nationwide search for New Zealand’s most deserving junior coach.
Parents around the country are being encouraged to nominate the coach of their child’s team. Nominations are encouraged for positive behaviour both on and off the pitch, including supporting players positively from the touchline, introducing new players to the game and helping out in their local community.
There are some great prizes up for grabs including coaching packs, Nike apparel packs and one overall winner who will receive a trip of a lifetime to Abu Dhabi to see Team Wellington compete in the Club World Cup.
Nominations can be made before July 15 by visiting www.nzfootball.co.nz/juniors and completing the nomination form.
The Coach of the Year competition is part of the ongoing support McDonald’s provides to junior football in New Zealand and helps provide resources to encourage more kids and parents to get involved with football.
We know there are some great junior coaches in the football community so get your nominations in today!
