NEWSLETTER JUNE 2022

Hi Members

Well it is official - winter is now knocking on the doorstep.

The bare trees have indicated that it is time to get the winter woollies out of mothballs, and onto your backs.

All the Club celebrations are now complete and await the Clubs Annual General Meeting.

A “quieter” Senior Prizegiving was celebrated last month with the annual Batons Up draw held on the same night.

Enjoy the winter break before preparations begin for the 2022/23 season, which looks very busy on the Softball NZ calendar.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

With the “colder”months upon, the comforts of home with the warmth of the household heating, electric blankets and “hotties”, overtake the urge to don the winter coat and venture outdoors. Keeping patronage at the Clubrooms to a low level.

The Clubrooms remain open on Friday evenings for the Membership and meat packs draws, which is frequented by the regulars, however Saturday and Sunday afternoons patronage is very spasmodic, resulting in decisions to either close early or not opening at all.

This month has two long weekends, Queens Birthday- June 6th and Matariki Day June 24th. The Club was closed on Sunday June 5th and of course Monday June 6th.

Watch the “Whats on at Ramblers” on Facebook or on the Website for opening hours on Matariki Weekend.

If you have or are travelling for either of these long weekends, be safe and enjoy.

To all team COACHES and MANAGERS - we will not be holding a debrief meeting this year - however we are asking for any feedback - positive or negative - on the past season. Please send feedback to Club Administrator, if in the negative, please include suggested solutions,   Now is the time to consider your intentions for next season, are you available to Coach, Manage or team score.

We would love to hear from you.

BLAST FROM THE PAST

                                               BLAST FROM THE PAST

Not such a stretch for your minds this month - only going back less than 20 years.

Do you recognise any of these young faces?

SPOTLIGHT ON ............................

                                                            SPOTLIGHT ON

Who has the Spotlight fallen down on this month

June’s spotlight has fallen on a RISING STAR.

The youngest “spot lighter” to date.

                                                        Introducing Karstein Fuimaono.

The 2021/22 season saw Karstein playing for Ramblers Reserve and Premier Women as well as a “Loan” player for Metro Under 18 Girls.

All her hard work and dedication has paid off by being named in the Sky Sport White Sox training squad.

Karstein was awarded Mt Albert Ramblers Most Promising Junior Girl Award at the 2021/22 Junior Prizegiving, then won the Pure Athletic Ramblers Premier Women’s Rookie of the Year award at the Senior Prizegiving.

The accolades did not stop there, with Karstein taking Metro Under 18 Girls Top Batter Award as well.

All of this at the tender age of 16.

Keep an eye out for this name in the future as a bright future looms for this young lady.
