SPOTLIGHT ON - .True Lady of our Sport.
This months Spotlight has fallen on a true lady, not only on the sports field but off the diamond as well.
Who else would it be but the one and only Sina Hunkin.
A former Waitakere College student who has recently returned to the school, not as a student but on the other side of the blackboard – teaching PE and Health.
Sina has spent many years living and teaching in Japan, along with her fiancé, the well-known softballer, Donny Hale.
Softball is one of her passions among other things.
Sina is quoted as saying “Softball is a big part of our lives, we pretty much eat, drink and breathe it.”
Sina currently is working alongside the White Sox management as mental skills coach, is playing for Mt Albert Ramblers Reserve Women’s team and will be seen at the NPC in Christchurch this Labour weekend as pick up player for North Harbour.
Sina wrote and delivered the Mental Skills module in support of developing softball coaches.
Sina has been an Auckland Representative, Played for Southern Pride at NPC, trainer for Junior and Senior White Sox, travelling to China for Junior World Series in 2008 and Japan in 2018 and long time softballer in the Auckland region.
Talents are a plenty for this lady including softball game commentator.

2007-08 Most Home Runs with 2 whilst playing for Marist.
2009 – 10 Most Stolen Bases with 11 also playing for Marist Premier Women.
