CEO MESSAGE The first game of the 2019 ANZ Premiership season started off with Super Sunday, on 24 February 2019, where all the teams met at Claudine Arena in Hamilton. This also coincided with the Netball New Zealand (NNZ) Council and AGM meeting. It was a great start to The Good Oil Tactix campaign, as we were able to get our first point on the table by taking out the Splice Magic, 42-48. The players and management team then had to quickly turn around and prepare themselves for their first home game against the Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steele. Whilst we started off well, it is with sadness that during this game, we lost Erikana Pedersen due to an injury. Erikana is a key member of the The Good Oil Tactix team and we wish her all the best with her recovery. The Hellers Mainland Beko team will soon be on the road to contest their first game against Waikato Bay of Plenty in Rotorua. We look forward to what the season will bring for the players and management team. It is exciting to see our netball Centres introduce mixed and a modified version of netball within their competitions for 2019. This can only add value to the enjoyment that our sport provides. We would like to congratulate Gail Benseman who was awarded a NNZ service award. We value all our volunteers in your contribution to the whole of Netball. See you on the courtside. Kind regards Brigit |
