We have finished Term 2 together today successfully! There are so many things to celebrate and reflect on, in this busy but enjoyable term! We farewell Mrs Liz Leitch today as she takes Maternity Leave to have her third child! How exciting! Mrs Leitch has been such an amazing person to have on our Staff Team and a much treasured teacher to have with our Tamariki. We will miss her so much but know that she will relish the opportunity to welcome another child into her whanau. We wish her all the best for this exciting new chapter … she will be very missed, by many in our school community. Liz is an active member of our Parish and we will always welcome her back to St Patrick's, when she is ready to be a teacher again! God bless you Mrs Leitch.
Today we also said best of luck and best wishes to Amy Begg, (Rata teacher) as she travels to Castions De Strada & Buttrio in Italy for 4 weeks, representing Women's Softball World Cup! We will be cheering for you Miss Begg! Miss Caldwell will be teaching Rata for the first two weeks of Term 3.
Our School Board are starting our Strategic Planning Process for the next three years. The purpose of this Survey is to gather information to formulate our 2024-2027 Strategic Plan. There are 3 x CBK Family Restaurant $100 vouchers available for the 3 most informative, detailed and thoughtful Survey responses. Karawhia atu!

Parish & Special Character News…..
It was announced in Rome @ 10pm last Thursday that our much loved parish priest, Father John Adams will be consecrated as New Zealand’s next Bishop for the Diocese of Palmerston North.
This news is obviously bittersweet for our parish. On the one hand we are saddened to be losing Bishop-elect John, but at the same time we rejoice that our country has been blessed with such a good and faithful priest as its newest Bishop.
We will update you with more details about this new development, and how it will practically impact our community, over the coming days and weeks. In the meantime, please keep Bishop-elect John in your prayers as he prepares to leave us for his vitally important new calling to be the shepherd of the Palmerston North Diocese.
Thank you so much for all of the Winter Woollies received last week and to Leo and his team for organising this! You can see from the photo below that we have received a marvellous pile of donations! They will be gratefully received by St Vincent de Paul's next week.

This winter, between Monday 12 June and Saturday 30 September, participating community pharmacies in Canterbury will provide a Minor Health Conditions Service for Māori and Pacific people, children aged under 14 years, and community service card holders.
The service allows pharmacists to have a clinical consultation and provide advice as well as medication if needed for a select set of minor ailments at no cost to the patient.
It also includes whānau members of a child with similar symptoms. For example, if the pharmacist determines your child needs treatment for scabies and they have older brothers or sisters, or you yourself also have symptoms, they can provide advice and medication for all of you.
The following health conditions are included in the Minor Health Conditions Service:
Acute diarrhoea
Dehydration
Eye inflammation and infections
Scabies
Headlice
Pain and fever
Eczema/Dermatitis
Minor skin infections
If your condition needs further support, the pharmacist can tell you the best place to go for your condition to get further help.
Let’s spread the word to our friends and whānau about this new service! It’s also important to remember that you can always speak to your local pharmacist for free health advice, even if you are not eligible for this service.
Participating pharmacies can be found by going to HealthPoint and searching “Minor Ailments”. You can also find a list here www.tewhatuora.govt.nz/go-well
