SPOTLIGHT ON ……………………………………..JADE JACKSON
November is the month of changeable weather, so who better for the Spotlight to fall on but a lady who wears many hats.
Jade Jackson who was born in Auckland, a student of Aorere College, has played all her softball at Ramblers Softball Club. Her preferred playing position was shortstop with leftfield her second choice, however in her words “these days plays anywhere really.”
Jade stands at 5’5’’, bats and throws righthanded.
A mother of a toddler, Koda, Jade can still be seen on the diamonds either playing for the Cruisers Div 3 team or coaching the Under 15 Boys in the mornings. As if that is not enough to keep her busy, Jade works for an Electricity Company as Head of Energy Transition, and along with partner Paul Rice, is on the Ramblers Executive committee.
In Jades “spare” time, she likes to hike or spend some quiet time reading.
Jades game philosophy is play hard but fair. Her training regime is F45 and the odd half marathon.
Jade achieved playing representatives for all Junior Grades in her playing career, but also enjoys netball, touch and rugby league.
Favourite food is pasta, especially crayfish ravioli with favourite music being RnB and Reggae.
Jade would love to visit Africa in the future, as she would really like to visit Tanzania.
Jade names her Grandad as her role model in life with his straight talking and being generous to a fault.
The Jackson family have a long history with Ramblers Club with Jades grandparents Ron and Pat Jackson, late Ron being a Life Member, Carl Jackson and Andi Griffiths (aunty and Uncle), Mother Tania and Aunty Kerri both played for the club, Roberts family, Life member Marion being Jades Great Aunty. Jade has 4 brothers two of which played for Ramblers, Mickey and Eru, and current players Jessie and Alex who are cousins.
What a family history.
