Cross-Country Relay-Andersons Park 20 Teams Consisting of 2-5 runners participated on Saturday 8 Volunteers assisted during the setup and running of the event. Am I faster than Dad?, Speade, My team name?, We've got the runs, Titirangi Trio, Team Rabbitte, the list goes on. It was great to see so many families participating together on Saturday at Anderson Park. We even had a baby handoff, in the transition area!! So kudos to the Horton Family. Grant Baker created another masterpiece of a cross-country run. It was, fast (for those with spikes), and muddy, with lots of twists and turns, and the music was on point. For those of us at the the start and finish line we were well set up to take in the beautiful Anderson House and watch all the runners come through the transition area. Though I do wonder what those inside Anderson House were thinking as the Southland Harriers ran lap after lap outside their window? Despite the number of family entries we had, it was a group of young men The Boyz, who were first across the finish line in 24:01.80, only 2 seconds in front of We've got The Runs, a fantastic finish to watch, and lots of chatter amongst the crowd while Hunter and Craig were out on the course about who would cross the line first. I want to thank all the teams who welcomed a runner or two from our pool of extra runners. What a wonderful way to make new friends within our Southland Harrier Family. Thank you all that attended and arrived early to get your number and sign in. It is definitely one of the favourite events of the season |

Shoe Clinic Super 8 Series-Race 1 Kew Bush Saturday 11th of March Come and join us for our first handicap race of the season. Enter via gate 4, off Kew Road at Southland Hospital, please respect the 20km speed limit. We will be handing out race numbers (again) but this time you will keep the number for the rest of the season. This will help speed things up at future events. So please arrive early. We will be aiming to start at 2pm. Senior Race 6.9kms Junior Race 2.3kms

From The Chair This coming Saturday our Shoe Clinic Super 8 Series starts at Kew Bush, Invercargill. Shoe Clinic has been supporting the Southland Harriers across multiple events for years. When I went in to speak with Ben this year, he basically stated what do you need? If you are need of running shoes the team at Shoe Clinic are amazing. They measure up your foot and find the perfect shoe for you and your style of running. I can not say enough good things about the team at Shoe Clinic, so please support them as they support us.
