Kia ora!

A special welcome from the Christchurch Local Organising Committee (LOC) to the 2024 SISS Netball Championships.

All games will be played indoors at the new Christchurch Netball Centre at Ngā Puna Wai. A reminder that due to court availability, we can confirm that all teams (across A, B and C Grades) will need to be prepared to stay all day on Thursday. Games, including finals, will finish later. Please factor this into your planning for your team.

We are looking forward to hosting you all in Christchurch, this 2-5 September!

ENTRY DETAILS

The 2024 entry fees are $500 for all grades. Fees are to be paid along with your entry, team roster and umpire forms by 2 July. A late entry fee of $80 will apply for all entries after the above date entry. However, a late entry will not guarantee your team is placed in the tournament.

This year, registrations will be done again via Sporty which allows the LOC access to players online and to ensure teams are directly entered into the draw programme. For more information on how to register your team, check out the information at this link and follow the steps: 2024 SISS TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

Entry fees are paid directly to the Management Committee through online banking or POLI. An invoice will be generated following completion of the entry form.

Bank account details are:

03-1725-0040696-000. Please add school name as reference.

TEAM ROSTER FORMS

The team roster must be approved by your Principal to certify that all team members are aged Under 19 on 1 January 2024 and are participating in 80% of a full-time course, and that all players satisfy the eligibility criteria as set by School Sport NZ. Refer to the NZ School Sport website for information on eligibility regulations.

To complete the official Team Roster you are required to print off the team list information from Team Builder. If you prefer you can use the template provided at https://www.sporty.co.nz/asset/downloadasset?id=ebf0bfeb-4645-49ec-9735-acdf92f2cafb

A copy of this signed by your Principal MUST be scanned and returned to chchsiss2024@gmail.com

MERCHANDISE

All tournament merchandise will be available via an online store - link accessible here SISS Netball Sports Gear Store| Impakt

Merchandise will be delivered before the tournament. There will be a small delivery cost so this can be either individually to home addresses or as a bulk order to schools to distribute, to save on delivery costs.

Please share this link with your players. Orders will close on 7 August.

UMPIRES

You will be aware that a change in procedures this year has been introduced by the management committee and advised in the first newsletter. This change means that all teams will have their named umpire officiate their first two games of the week.

On the second day the umpires will then be allocated across the most appropriate grades. This means it is crucial that teams provide an umpire to perform at the grade being played. We encourage all teams to include in their planning support for their umpires to attend the tournament including accommodation and travel.

As an organising committee we are unable to find umpires for teams as has happened in past years.  Teams who are struggling to source an umpire are asked to go to their local netball centre to ask for support. We also recommend asking local Christchurch schools if they have any additional umpires that may be suitable for their grade and available to assist.

Please note

All teams/schools are financially responsible for their named umpire All teams/schools will be charged $800.00 if they do not provide an umpire.

In addition to your own team umpire, if you have other umpires within your school or community capable of umpiring at the same or lower grade, please complete the link below and the LOC will pass on these details to suitable schools: ADDITIONAL SCHOOL UMPIRES

SCORING

This year we will again be using the scoring app instead of score cards. This means all teams will need their scorer code specific to their team.

Prior to your first game, Managers will need to log into TeamBuilder - SISS Netball Registration (SISS Netball Association Inc SCORING) (2024) and click onto their team in the grade they are playing. When they click into the team, then the team details are listed, and the specific team code comes up at the bottom. This can then be shared with those in each team who will be responsible for scoring. The scorers for each team will need to have access to a phone or ipad in order to score on the sideline. Timing will be done for each court using centre scoreboards.

Live scoring results will again be available through the SISS website as the tournament progresses.

The draw will be available once entries close – approximately 2-3 weeks before tournament.
