Kart Scrutineering for SCFKC members
This Sunday will be the first of two club scrutineering days for club members.
It will run as follows, 8.45am to 9.30am:
- Club members arrive with their kart, which has been checked against our Annual Scrutineering Audit Form 2024/2025. Please print this form off and present with your kart. This will save a great deal of time. https://www.sporty.co.nz/asset/downloadasset?id=ea1a23af-5402-428e-bfca-329452ca854a
- Please line up your kart at the club van in two rows.
- Your kart will be checked by a committee member as per our club rules as per the Annual Scrutineering Audit Form.
- If your kart passes, you will be given a plastic tag which needs to remain on the kart for the next year, attached at a point acceptable to the committee member checking the kart.
- If you lose this tag, you can have your kart re-checked and would then be issued with another tag.
- The tag number will be recorded against your kart no and membership.
- If you have any questions, please see a committee member.
Once you have your tag, you can head to the club tent and sign in for racing.
This will also cover you for the scrutineering that must be done at local club level for the NZ Champs (SCFKC will take no responsibility for karts that don't pass the required scrutineering in Dunedin at NZ Champs).
You will still be required to keep your kart to the safety standard, as per the rules, at all times and spot checks will be undertaken at monthly club meetings.
Important Notice - Turf Tyres
Please Note – as of 2024 October Race meeting Turf tyres are to be fitted to the drive wheels of all competing Karts. The SCFKC has purchased two options of Turf tyres to sell. These will be available to members at a discounted rate.
It is not mandatory to purchase tyres directly from the Club, however in doing so supports SCFKC and fellow members.
Details
Two options will be available to purchase, the Carlisle & CST Brands.
Please be aware the tyre sidewall and casing are different in construction. Outside of being familiar with this, it is recommended to view them before placing an order.
Both option tyres will be available to view at monthly meetings from August.
Tyres will be available to purchase from September 1st
Cost $40 per tyre, includes GST.
Purchases can be made from sporty.com with the delivery of tyres the following meeting (from payment date) or by arrangement.
Burris tyres are only optional for the Open Class ONLY, all other classes are to have turf tyres fitted to DRIVE wheels, current diamonds can be used on NON-driven wheels only.

Fire Extinguishers
As it's the dry time of year again, please ensure you have a suitable fire extinguisher at your kart in the pits. It is best practice to always have one close by so invest in one if you haven't already.
