Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou, last week was AWESOME and a big mihi goes out to all the rangatahi and whānau who came together to make so our first rugby festival day so successful!

We have our final tournament day this weekend at Bruce Pulman park as part of Iwi of Origin, please note our pānui below:

  • All teams: baking, bread, fruit or drinks

2. The Bruce Pulman whakatau will be at 9am, we want as many whānau there as possible please.

3. The draw is not yet finalised, once it's ready this will be distributed via the team coaches and managers.

4. Uniform will be supplied by Tāmaki Makaurau Whutupōro Māori.

5. We have a bus booked for Saturday to Takanini, please email aklmaorirugby@gmail.com to book a seat for any whānau who need a seat on this bus or reply to this email

6. Registrations, there are still some players have not completed the final part of the registration process which means we may be missing certain players and their contact details. Once clearances are approved you need to complete the final step, some whānau have not done this yet.

7. We are entering an U14s, U16s Paki Tu, U16s Paki Toa, U18s.

8. We are still hoping to get our U16s kōtiro playing on Saturday. While we have been unable to form a complete U16s team we have had interest and girls turning up to train alongside the boys which has been awesome. We want them to be a part of Saturday in whatever capacity we can muster up. If you are a kōtiro or have a girl that is registered or keen to play, please message matua Rick on 027 276 4279 to confirm your interest ASAP.

9. TMWM kākahu - most have these have been given out but if you haven't received your order, please check in with your manager.

10. Our players were gifted their player edition tees to wear when not in their playing strip. It is an expectation that these are worn for the whakatau please. Those players who couldn't make last Saturday can collect theirs this Saturday. Reminder, these are a taonga, please look after them and don't leave them lying around.

11. Mouthguards, mouthguards, mouthguards - please don't forget these
