Here is your DECEMBER 2025 edition of the Sox Nation Insider.

The seasons in full swing, and there’s plenty to celebrate across Aotearoa as we inch our way toward the New Year and second half of the season!

The Junior White Sox have returned from a successful Trans-Tasman tour, showcasing their skills and teamwork against strong Australian competition. Exciting times ahead for the Junior Black Sox, with a new management team appointed to guide the squad on their journey to international success.

We’re also celebrating some incredible achievements off the field, with Marty Grant and Melisa Tupuivao being inducted into the WBSC Hall of Fame, recognising their outstanding contributions and lasting impact on softball both in New Zealand and around the world.

To wrap things up, we’re taking a trip down memory lane with some Flashback Friday highlights and Weekend Warrior that celebrate the talent, dedication and spirit that make our softball community shine.

The season’s heating up - gloves are ready, bats are swinging, and Sox Nation is buzzing for another unforgettable chapter in Kiwi softball

Softball New Zealand proudly celebrates the induction of Marty Grant and Melisa Tupuivao (née Upu) into the World Baseball Softball Confederation WBSC Hall of Fame – a truly well-deserved honour recognising their outstanding contributions to the global growth and success of our sport

Their remarkable achievements, dedication and impact on and off the diamond have left an enduring legacy for softball in New Zealand and around the world. The induction ceremony took place during the 6th WBSC Congress held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Established in 1981, the WBSC Softball Hall of Fame recognises athletes, coaches, umpires and administrators who have made exceptional contributions to the development of softball and baseball around the world. Inductions occur biennially, reflecting the sport’s continued evolution and global reach.

The WBSC Softball Hall of Fame now includes 281 members representing 38 countries and territories: 119 players, 73 administrators, 47 coaches, 36 umpires and 13 individuals recognised for their meritorious service.
