ICC Mall Car Park Challenge-Race 1 Shoe Clinic Series

70 Runners and 10 Volunteers Participated

Saturday nights event was something special. A new event, a new venue, a record number of runners and supporters (for a series event), and plenty of first timers. Events like the car park challenge add something very unique to our Winter Athletics season, where the atmosphere is all about fun alongside competing against each other and ourselves in a way that brings a smile to everyone's face.

As always a big shout out to everyone who helped to bring this event together, organizer's, marshals, course designers, finish line helpers, admins and supporters. Everyone's excitement really added to the atmosphere of this event.

Next a shout out to our under 10's, in the craziness of organizing and running a new event, we dropped the ball for you kids. Its hard enough to get out there, in a new environment when your under 10 years old, and then have to navigate finish lines, laps and grades. You all did amazing. Can you tell your Mum's and Dad's we will work harder to make things easier for you and to get results correct going forward, we like all of you are always learning and trying to do better all the time.

3 starts, and some close finishes made this event fun for runners and supporters. The King of the Car Park 2026 Hunter Gough, was heard raving about the event and wearing his crown in public post event, which is saying something considering the Car Park Kings specialty is endurance not car park ramps. Hunter and Cayden Sanginiti's, side by side laps were definitely a highlight of the night. The Queen of the Car Park looked stunned and star struck when inaugurated. Its great to see Charlotte Hawkes running Harriers again, and we look forward to seeing more great results from her this year.

To all of our new participants, we hope to see you all again. We love new runners and all of our events have something to offer everyone, from beginners to elite with a few seasoned but maybe not as fast as they use to be runners thrown into the mix.

Finally thank you to the ICC Mall for inviting us, to use the space. It was definitely unique and entertaining.
