Our Annual General Meeting is fast approaching, and we're looking for members who would like to join the Committee for the 2026–2027 season.
If you're passionate about the Club and would like to help shape its future, we'd love to hear from you. No previous committee experience is needed—just a willingness to get involved and make a positive contribution.

PMG CATCH & RELEASE COMPETITION
Saturday 4 – Saturday 19 July 2026
The PMG Catch & Release Competition is now underway and runs through to Sunday 19 July.
Proudly sponsored by Pacific Motor Group, the competition is open to all Club members. Target species are Kingfish, Snapper and Kahawai, with cash prizes up for grabs for the longest three fish in each species.
If you haven't picked up your PMG Measure Mat yet, there's still plenty of time. With some great winter weather on the way, it's the perfect excuse to get out on the water.

KINGFISH TOURNAMENT
Friday 10th to Sunday 12th July 2026
The countdown is on to the first tournament of the season, and we can't wait to welcome anglers back to Whangaroa for a great weekend of kingfish action.
Whether you're chasing a tournament-winning kingfish, aiming for a personal best, or simply looking forward to a great weekend on the water with family and friends, this is one event you won't want to miss.

NZ 6KG LIGHT TACKLE CONTEST
The 2026 NZ 6kg Light Tackle Contest has come to a close, with anglers facing challenging conditions on Day One before more settled weather arrived for Day Two.
Across the tournament, anglers recorded 20 weighed kingfish, 10 Measure & Release kingfish, 3 weighed snapper, and 6 Measure & Release snapper. The event also produced two pending World Records, making it a memorable weekend of light tackle fishing.
Congratulations to the team aboard Kat N Fiddle, who claimed the Diomedea Cup with an outstanding 3,975.834 points. Junior angler Tyler Davey landed the tournament's heaviest kingfish at 23.30kg, a pending IGFA Junior World Record, while Jeanette Franks, fishing aboard Diomedea, landed a 20.30kg kingfish on 3kg line, a pending IGFA Women's 3kg Line Class World Record and the highest IGFA points score of the tournament.
A huge congratulations to all our anglers, and thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, skippers, crews, and weigh station team for helping make another successful NZ 6kg Light Tackle Contest possible. We look forward to seeing everyone back again next year.
