Update on Gateway Washup and Survey
CATE has been working with TEC, alongside CDANZ, to better understand the “washup” and how we can ensure that there is better communication between TEC and schools involved in Gateway. A survey was developed in February to collect data around the impact of COVID on Gateway programmes in Auckland, Waikato and Northland. There was a call for a national survey and we are currently working with CDANZ to develop a nationwide survey to send to all our members in the hope we can present feedback to the TEC regarding the washup, the impact of COVID 19 and future changes we would like to see in measurement outcomes etc. to ensure the success of the Gateway programme. Check your “inbox” the first week of Term 2. We encourage all members to complete this and have their say as the only way we will get traction is through evidence and data. Thank you in advance.
Gateway Online Conference An online Gateway conference is scheduled for Thursday, 28 July. This will take place from 9am to 3pm. More information to follow.

Career Theories - Happenstance Theory. Life brings many opportunities and challenges that we don't plan for. Teaching students and clients to ‘roll with the punches’ and make the most of the circumstances life gives them, can be a very valuable skill.
