Welcome to this month's Newsletter. And just like that our first game is done and dusted.

Saturday saw all our teams take the courts with some great results 2 wins 1 Draw and a very happy social team walking after the game.

Some words from our coaches on the first game of the season

Illuminate Janine Stevenson

Our first game was an awesome start to the season, we started off slow but lefties their game in every quarter which gave us a well deserved win of 26-16.

If this is any indication of how our team will do this season then top 4 here we come!

GCM Heaven Gray-Watt

We played hard and strong and even though we struggled having everyone play a full game we really pulled through and took the W!!! Super excited for the rest of the season

KCP Kim Foote

Amazing start to the netball season, everyone was pumped and excited to kick everything off.  Up against an energetic and strong-willed Year 9 KC college girls.  Really pleased to come away with a 16-all draw.

Fusion Social Bernie Brown

The social team managed to walk off the court at the end. No one needed to be carried off and no ambulances were called. Also.... we pulled our positions out of a hat. Annalese scored 3 of our 7 goals.  Never played GS before

Fundraising Update:

Since our last newsletter, we have had 2 fundraising events raising a total of $2000 for the club some of which will be used to help build our Youth team for next season.

We have one more fundraiser for the season with the Netball BBQ at the courts on Saturday 28th May. Again this is a full club Fundraiser which requires us to donate baked goods and lollies to be sold, and also club members to man the bbq though out the day.  This last Fundraising push will be going towards our end-of-season awards and celebration.

Tessa will advise teams of their time slots on the BBQ the week of once the draw has been posted.

Please Note that players were given the option to not fundraise If you aren't able to help with this fundraiser and haven't been to the last 2 there will be an added $50 as the opt-out fee to your invoice.

Club Night:

Tessa and her team are busy working on our first club night which has been penciled in for 18th June, Keep that Saturday night free because you're going to be in for some fun.

Club Merchandise:

We are happy to be offering club merchandise again this season so if you are wanting another training top or a club hoodie follow the link.

Club Umpiring Group:

We are currently the first club to try and get our own group up off the ground to cover the club umpiring duty. The purpose of the group is to ensure firstly that our club is supplying umpires that are component and happy to umpire, and Mel is in conversations with those that allocate teams to games so that they are placed on games that suit their abilities.

We would ideally like 3 members from each team to come on board as it would be helpful to have a 3rd umpire/support sideline.

If you think that you would like to join please contact Mel  in GCM or Maraea in Illuminate. also if you know someone that wants to help but isn't playing for fusion that's ok we can have them join as a volunteer

Netball Kapiti News

We have been given a special $20 ticket offer for the Pulse v Stars game on Sunday, May 15th at TSB center pass is at 4.10.

Please message Mel for the code for discount

Please do not share this code on any of your social media pages

Good luck with next week's game remembering that the first 3 weeks are like grading after the next 2 games teams may move grades.
