COACHES

NEW COACHES

Coaching is very rewarding and is a great way to contribute to your community, give back to the game, and to meet others who share your love for rugby. If you are new to coaching, it's easy to become involved. As a coach, both Canterbury Rugby and your Club will help support you and provide you with development opportunities. All you need to do is contact your local Rugby Club, School or the Coaching team at Canterbury Rugby, then once you know which team you will be coaching, you will need to register to become a coach. From here you will complete the relevant Coaching Courses so you can be in the game for the 2021 season!

COACHING COURSES

At the beginning of every season you will attend either:
- RugbySmart
Course (if coaching players aged 13 or above) or

- SmallBlacks Coaching Course (if coaching players aged 12 & under)

These coaching courses have been designed by New Zealand Rugby to help you develop as a coach and improve the safety of the game. This year Canterbury Rugby are offering a selection of age & grade coaching courses. It is recommended to attend your relevant course, however if you cannot make the date or they are not local to you, then please select a similar course.
