Canterbury Rugby’s pathways to higher honours continue with the announcement of its Canterbury B squad for 2020.

Head coach Bevan Sisson has kept a keen eye on form during the Canstaff Premier Men’s and Luisetti Seeds North Canterbury and Ellesmere Division One competitions and rewarded players accordingly. “I am really looking forward to a great crop of players that have been in or around the Canterbury M10 group over the past few years while also rewarding some top club players who stood out this year in a tough Canterbury club competition.”

Six players from the 2019 Canterbury B side are now playing in the 2020 Mitre 10 Cup, highlighting the importance of the established development pathway. “Given the context to the year with Covid-19 and the disruption it’s caused, it has been a great effort this year by the CRFU to give the next crop of players a chance to join a representative programme. This year’s group is no different and I see an opportunity for a number of this group to take the step forward.”
