CRICKET WELLINGTON BOARD

DAVID HOWMAN - CHAIR 

David is a sport integrity consultant and former barrister. He is the Chair of the Athletes Integrity Unit, having been re-appointed to that position by the IAAF Council in September 2019, the Chair of World Squash Ethics Commission, Deputy Chair of the ITF Ethics Commission, and Chair of the ICC Anti-Corruption Oversight Group. David was a member of the Australian Government’s Panel reporting on Sport Integrity in 2018 and holds the position of Adjunct Professor at AUT.

David was Director General (more corporately named the CEO) of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), from August 2003 until July 2016, and was instrumental in the shaping of WADA into a highly respected and unified global organization responsible for regulating and monitoring world sport and world governments.

With a large experience of governance at both local and national levels in sport, accompanying his management skills, David brings a leadership capacity to Cricket Wellington which leads on from the tremendous job undertaken by Sally Morrison. He was Chair of the Collegians Junior Cricket Club, and the Chair of the Wellington College Cricket Club.  He has a passion for cricket and a commitment to mentor future leaders.

David received a CNZM for services to sport in 2017.

David was elected Chair in 2019.


ELIZABETH SCURR - DIRECTOR

Elizabeth is a former first-class cricketer who represented both Wellington and Otago. Her passion for cricket sees her playing premier women’s cricket for Wellington Collegians, where she has also served on the Board.

In February 2017 Elizabeth joined the Cricket Wellington Board as an intern Director and was elected as a Director at the AGM in the same year. She is the Chair of the Finance and Risk Committee.

Elizabeth has more than ten years public sector experience and holds a Masters of Professional Accounting.

Elizabeth was elected to the Board in 2017. 


SALLY MCKECHNIE - DIRECTOR 

Sally is a partner at Simpson Grierson, leading the Public Law and Government team in the firm’s Wellington office. She is an experienced public and commercial litigator and advisor, working with clients across the commercial, public and not-for-profit sectors. Sally was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University and she brings legal, strategic and analytical skills to the Board table.

Sally is a lifelong cricket fan and parent to three enthusiastic young cricketers.

Sally was elected to the Board in 2018. 


ROCHELLE RODDICK - DIRECTOR

Rochelle is a tax partner at Australasian business advisory firm Findex.  She is a chartered accountant with over 25 years’ experience advising businesses and not-for-profits.

Starting her involvement with cricket at a young age in the Hutt Valley, Rochelle then played senior women’s cricket for Taita District Cricket Club and representative cricket for Wellington before heading off to live in Amsterdam for seven years.  Returning to New Zealand, she reconnected with the game, coaching her children and also becoming involved in administration and, as Chair of Porirua City Junior Cricket Club, led the club through a period of growth including expansion of women and girls’ cricket in Porirua.

Rochelle is also a trustee of the New Zealand Cricket Museum, a board member of Wellington Hockey and chair of education not-for-profit Teacher Development Aotearoa. 

Rochelle was elected to the Board in 2020. 


PRABHA RAVI - DIRECTOR 

Prabha received a QSM in 2017 for her contribution to ethnic communities and she is an experienced Director with significant community links and an established reputation.  Prabha has a proven track record in strategy development and implementation, cross cultural promotions, sector and stakeholder engagement, thought leadership and business development. A passionate community leader, her father played State Cricket in India and she understands first hand what it is like to hail from a country where cricket is a ‘religion’.

Prabha was elected to the Board in 2018. ​​​​​​​


JASON WELLS - DIRECTOR 

Jason is currently Managing Director and owner of Wellington data company Dotlovesdata and part owner of creative agency EightyOne. Prior to that Jason spent 15 years with advertising agency Y&R New Zealand. 

Working with some New Zealand’s biggest brands, Jason is responsible for solving business problems with the smart use of data and creative ideas. 

Jason played cricket for Wellington for 12 years ending in 2001/02 season. He has stayed involved in cricket through coaching his two sons at Rongotai College and working with current and past firebirds. 

Jason will bring his knowledge of cricket combined with his ability to think differently about the problems and opportunities Cricket Wellington currently face now and in the future. 

Jason was elected to the Board in 2019.​​​​​​​


CAMPELL MACKIE - DIRECTOR

Campbell is an experienced volunteer in club cricket across Wellington having been the Chairman of Hutt District Cricket club for 7 years, the club he has played for since a kid and is a founding member of the Hutt Cricket Academy. 

He is currently the Head of Technology for ACC and sits on multiple cross government boards with a focus on strategic delivery of technology and transformation. 

Campbell brings his knowledge of community cricket and his strategic thinking and experience to the board table.
