About Us

The team welcome you to the Cross Recreation Centre located at the Riverside Reserve, Balclutha.

We are a multipurpose centre providing recreation, fitness, events and wellness opportunities for everyone in a fun, relaxed and welcoming environment. We run school holiday programmes, activities and competitions throughout the year for your enjoyment.

The Cross Recreation Centre provides a range of facilities including the New World Balclutha Sports Arena, the Tyrone McElrea Lounge, the Signworks Function Room,
the Jeff Seymour Wing Meeting Room, a fully equipped kitchen, canteen, bar and office spaces.

Casual users are welcome to use the New World Balclutha Sports Arena, this use is dependent on other bookings. Concession cards are available for casual users, pay for 9 and the 10th session is FREE!

  • Basketball & netball shots, passing/kicking a ball around etc - $5.00pp
  • Table tennis, tennis, volleyball, badminton and pickleball - $7.00pp, prior bookings preferred to allow for set up
  • Scooters (supplied or bring your own) - $5.00pp
  • Other equipment e.g. frisbee and frisbee catchers etc, available on request - $5.00pp
  • Inflatables - $100.00 per hire (includes court hire), prior bookings required to allow for set up
  • Bubble balls - $100.00 per hire (includes court hire), prior bookings required to allow for set up
  • Play pod - $100.00 per hire (includes court hire), prior bookings required to allow for set up
