OFFICIALS

Have you ever thought about doing your Officials training?

Well here's some food for thought...
1) It's free - Fairfield Athletics will pay for your course fees.
2) You'll learn a huge amount about the rules which you can then apply to your own childs training.
3) There's no obligation to officiate at any events (though if you can, it will be a huge help).
4) When you are an Official, you have the best seat in the house for viewing events, and
5) You'll be helping a sport primarily run by much needed volunteers.

WHAT DOES THE TRAINING INVOLVE?
The training is usually broken down into modules, one for track and one for jumps and throws.

A condensed training course covering all modules has been scheduled for Saturday 31st October, 2020. This will be held at the Sport BOP offices in Tauranga.

Further details are available here:

Another course just covering the jumps and throws module is being held in Cambridge on Sunday 22nd November, 2020. Contact us at [email protected] if you want to attend this or need more information.

WHO CAN DO IT?
Anyone aged 13 or over can do the training. You can be a parent, caregiver, sibling, grandparent or anyone else. It can be a great way for grandparents or other relations to get involved.

ANY OTHER BENEFITS?
If you do take a liking to the Officials role, you can take this further with more training and mentoring. This can lead you all the way to the world champs or Olympics if you keep going.

HOW DO YOU SIGN UP?
Send us a message via Facebook or email and let us know what training module(s) you'd like to sign up for and we'll add you to the list. Please do this as soon as possible so the Athletics NZ organiser can arrange enough course materials for everyone.....that's all the printed material and rule books etc.
