Club Battler of the Week: Toby How (Geraldine Axemen)
This week's Battler is probably more well known in South Canterbury social circles as the winner of the 20...14 'NZ Rural Bachelor of the Year' but in rugby circles he's known as a hard working, nuggety flanker for the Geraldine Seniors.
After spending time in Mongolia wrestling with the locals and mountain goats, How returned to his Geraldine roots where he slotted straight back into his childhood club and started making his mark knocking over men twice his size.
Not sure if the Mongols helped him or not but he is certaintly now accomplished senior player who opposing players know they will have a tough time getting past all afternoon.
Toby also turns out each year in the month long Woodham Shield comp between South Westland teams Whataroa, Fox-Franz-Haast, Hari Hari & Ross really showing how committed he is to club rugby in this country!
Congrats Toby, you are this week's Battler!
