Welcome to Gisborne Dressage

Gisborne Dressage was formed over 50 years ago to promote Dressage in our Area.

Based at the Gisborne Showgrounds, Makaraka, Gisborne Dressage holds open registered cpmpetition in September, November, February and March with the Poverty Bay A&P Show being held in October. These days are all run under ESNZ and DNZ rules. Riders must be members of the ESNZ and horses must be registered to compete in the registered classes. Classes for non ESNZ and unregistered horses are available at most of our competition days.

As an introduction to Dressage we hold instructional days which cater for unregistered and emerging combinations. These days are mostly run during Autumn and Winter months.

Our committee is elected at our May AGM and is active all year round meeting on the last Tuesday of each month. We have a delegate to the Dressage NZ committee who reports back, to our meetings, on the dressage scene in NZ and overseas.

Membership is open to riders and supporters of any age. You must be a memeber of a local Dressage Group to be eligible for any National Leaderboards and Challenges.
