THURSDAY    NIGHT    COMPETITION
All members are encouraged to compete  regularly in Club Race night. which begins early September.  The first Handicap Race night will be  in early October. The first Thursday of each month (except for January) will be a Time Trial/ Scratch night when all swimmers are seeded into races and all  begin  their race on the Starter’s signal.
All other Race nights will be run using our new computerised Handicap System.  Swimmers will go off the Starters signal and their times will be handicapped by the computer post-race.

SCRATCHINGS
If a swimmer who has entered her / his self (or has asked  someone else to put their entry in)  for a Thursday night’s races, and for an unexplained  reason, then does not turn up on the night to swim, he/she  may be penalised by losing points awarded towards the Club’s Trophies.
If a swimmer decides not to swim a certain race  they have entered that night , without good reason (see *** above),  he/she must forfeit the next race(i.e. can not swim). If the
no- swim is their last event entered that night ,  he/she may lose points earned in previous swims.
PROGRESSION TIMES
Once a swimmer swims faster on Club Racenight than the  Progression times set as displayed on The Club Noticeboard,  he/she must progress to the next longer distance for that stroke.  If their personal best time is a second or so slower than the set time,  the swimmer may choose to enter the longer distance, but they can not return to  the shorter distance  at a later date.  The Club meet manager will amend entries where progression must occur and try to let the swimmer know before  the Racenight starts.
