WOMENS & GIRLS ACADEMY COACHING ANNOUNCEMENTS

We are excited to welcome Luca Vasori to our club.

Luca will be working within our Northern League Womens Programme assisting our existing coaching staff from 2023 and he will help establish and run our new Girls Training Academy programme.

He has previously been working as the Head of Girls and Women's football, leading the girls and women development pathway, at Birkenhead United.

Luca's constant support and effort towards girls and women's football allowed Birkenhead United to be in the position to sign the girls' TDP agreement with NZ Football in 2023. He also contributed to design and implementation of the Girls Futsal Programme ( juniors and youth ) and the Girls Training Hub ( juniors ) and Fantails programme.

Prior to Birkenhead United, Luca worked as a Football Development Manager at Forrest Hill Milford and Westlake Girls for a decade supporting and fostering many young players on their journeys.

Luca has been working for years as a Community Coach Developer for Northern Region Football and recently with Sport NZ, delivering courses to both football coaches and other codes.

Luca said of coming to Hamilton Wanderers " I am excited to be offered this great opportunity at Hamilton Wanderers, I can't wait to learn more from NZ Football legend Ricki Herbert and contribute to the Club's development in the Girls and Women's space"

Luca will be joined in these programmes by our current Cook Islands Football Association International and Women’s Premier player, Caitlin Young, who is beginning her coaching career with our club.

Caitlin is working towards gaining her OFC/NZF C License qualification and is looking forward to working with our young female players and hopes at some stage to also be able to use her coaching experiences to help grow the game further in the Cook Islands.

We are very excited for our players in these spaces and looking forward to seeing the great work that Luca and Caitlin will bring to this area of our club’s football programme

Luca commences with our club this week with Caitlin joining from next week upon returningfrom her C License course this week.
