James Coughlan Announced As Talent Development Officer


It is with great excitement that North Harbour Hockey announces James Coughlan’s appointment to the Talent Development Officer position.

James has been a member of the North Harbour community since the year 2000 and with a background in Sport Management at Massey University he is excited about the opportunity to apply the learnings from his studies within a sports organisation he loves.

Having a successful playing career that has currently involved nine NHLs and 76 test matches for The Blacksticks including the Rio Olympics in 2016, James has been involved in a number of our talent programmes as a coach through academies and representative sides including leading the under 18 Girls to the 2015 national title.

His current experience in high performance hockey will provide our young talent not only the opportunity to learn current trends and training methods but also develop their skills and understanding of the game in preparation  for representing North Harbour Hockey at the highest level and beyond.

James officially start on 16th January 2017 but you will see him around the office between now and Christmas.
