Next meeting/'Gilli Marshall workshop' reminder to all HAG members…..10 15am – 2.45 pm, (lunch 12.30 – 1pm), Saturday 17th May 2025 at Jireh Hall, 608 Frederick Street, Mahora, Hastings (behind St John’s Church).
*We are extremely fortunate to have the celebrated Gilli Marshall to tutor our next meeting May 17th. Gillian is a multi-media artist, art teacher and designer of wearable fashions who is based in Hawke’s Bay. Currently she is the Educational Arts Tutor at Hawke’s bay Prison. She is a well-known and respected teacher of art at various HB Secondary Schools, and has a Masters degree in professional practice.
Gilli is inspired by everyday life and nature with a strong focus on sustainability. She creates narrative within her work and has participated in group and solo exhibitions and competitions.
This workshop will be something special!
Be sure to bring your lunch (or purchase at nearby Mahora shops), and your usual paints/pastels/charcoal etc, plus canvas/paper etc. Gilli has a wide experience and knowledge in the use of all medium, so, be ready for ‘Tips and Tricks’!

Easels are available for members use, PLUS spare sets (1 of each) of oils, pastels and watercolours, paints, brushes etc.
Members not involved with Tutorial on the day, but wishing to attend the monthly club-day, will be accommodated separately within the hall at the customary $5 p person, p day fee to cover hall-hire costs of $100 p day…

For the interest and inspiration of other members, remember to take along and display any art that you have competed recently.

It was great to see a good crowd of artists at Ian's Pastel/Water-colour group at Hastings Library mezzanine Floor today, (Thursday 27th March 2025).
I hadn't realised that it was also a "Bring and Share" event with figs, pears, apples, spring onions etc. etc. changing hands between keen gardeners. I was delighted with my cucumber, thanks Marge...
Lots of fun and laughter and huge interest in what others are creating artistically at this time.
