COVID-19 PROTECTION FRAMEWORK (TRAFFIC LIGHTS SYSTEM)

IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY 3 DECEMBER 2021

The Government has announced that the New Zealand COVID-19 Protection Framework (traffic lights system) will come into effect from 11.59pm on 2 December 2021.

It is important that we provide our staff, members, and visitors with a safe community in which they can play hockey and enjoy our facilities, including the turfs, café, bar and clubhouse. A safe community is a COVID-19-free community, and we believe vaccination is the best available protection against the spread of COVID-19.

Hockey Wanganui has therefore resolved that the entire Hockey Wanganui facility will be a COVID-19 vaccination certificate venue, from Friday 3 December.

This means that anyone aged 12 and over must agree to provide, on request, printed or electronic evidence of their 'My Vaccine Pass', to a Hockey Wanganui representative to be able to access the facilities, in its entirety.

Please note that, besides having to show a valid ‘My Vaccine Pass’ before entry, all visitors are also required to comply with the following general measures:

• Everyone entering our facilities MUST scan in via the COVID Tracer QR Code.

• Face coverings must be worn by all visitors, except while actually playing or officiating in a game at the time.

• Exercise responsible social distancing while watching hockey. Generally this means maintaining at least a 1m distance from others.

• If you feel unwell, please do not come to the hockey facilities.

Based on the information currently available, we believe that we have no option but to be a facility that only allows entry to visitors who have valid vaccine certificates. That means that anyone who is not vaccinated (or cannot prove they are vaccinated or exempted) will not be allowed in our facility from 3 December 2021.

We encourage our members and visitors to get vaccinated as soon as possible and to download their ‘My Vaccine Pass’ on a scannable device, to continue enjoying hockey experiences at our facilities.
