Tournament Rules

Manawatu 11 rules will apply with the following exceptions: 

  • Pitching

    • Pitchers shall pitch from the 10m mark (Normally 11m). 

    • Pitchers will pitch one inning each. They can come back to pitch alternate innings.

    • Coaches pitch from the 8m mark

  • Base distance will be 14 metres.

  • Game length is 60 minutes or three innings.

  • Team roster for a game should only contain:

    • 7 - 10 batters in the line-up, and 

    • 7 - 10 positions on the field.  

  • The winner will be determined by one of the following scenarios:

    • If at the top of the innings at 60 min, the score from the last completed innings will count, or

    • If at the bottom of the innings at 60 min you finish the innings

    • If at the bottom of the innings at 60 min, if the team batting is ahead, the score stands and the game is over.

  • Points will be awarded for wins and losses to determine the finals:

    • Win = 3 points

    • Draw = 2 points

    • Loss = 0 points

Tournament Winner

  • If there is a tie for points between teams,

  • The team that won in the round robin game wins,

  • If still tied, then runs for and against for the tourney will determine the placings.

  • If there is still a tie, then a coin toss will determine who wins.

    Speeding up the game

  • The following rules will assist with speeding up the game:

    • A 2 pitch warm up between innings.

    • No infield throw around between outs or innings.

    • Catcher to bat at the top of the order

    • 2-down catcher rule will apply.​​​​​​​
