Instrumental/Vocal Music Lessons

Cost - no cost for tuition, instrument hire can be arranged for $130 per year

Requirements - attendance at scheduled lessons each week, personal practice as advised by staff, participation in college extra-curricular music groups (once appropriate standard is reached) such as band, orchestra and/or choir.

Lessons - 30 minute lesson, once per week on a rotating timetable

Commitment - ongoing commitment to learning is an expectation, students not showing 100% commitment (i.e - absent from lessons or not engaging in regular practice) will lose their place in the programme.


The itinerant music programme at Macleans is available to all students at no cost.  Lessons are available to study; brass, woodwind, strings, guitar & drums. Visiting specialist teachers carry out group and individual lessons during the normal school day.  Lessons are 30 minutes each and are organised on a rotating timetable to minimise disruption to curriculum classes. Students are expected to catch up on any work missed from their curriculum classes due to music lessons.
