The Invercargill rifle club shoots at the Invercargill Rifle range in Cobbe Road off Stead street.

We use centre fire rifles from .223 to .30 calibre at distances from 300yds to 600yds. We are affiliated to the NRA of NZ and shoot under their rules.

There are three classes of competition

Target Rifle: Restricted to rifles supported by a sling and fixed with aperture sights. The calibre is .308 only

Free Target Rifle: calibres restricted to .223 or .308. The rifle may be supported by a fixed bipod at the front and a bag at the rear. Telescopic sights may be used.

Free Rifle: Calibres up to 8mm are allowed. The rifle may be supported by a front rest and rear bag. Telescopic sights can be used.
