Our school hosts international students and is a signatory to the Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016 (the Code). As a signatory to the Code, we strive to protect international students and provide them with a positive experience that supports their educational achievement.
Kaitaia College provides:
▪ places for fee paying students who wish to attend our school
▪ immersion in mainstream classes
▪ pastoral care of International students that complies with the Education.
International students receive a full initial orientation appropriate to our school and the student's age, as well as ongoing orientation to aspects of New Zealand life and culture.
International students aged 10–17 years may live in the care of a residential caregiver if certain conditions, specified in the Code of Practice, are met.
