Kamo Cricket Club

The history of The Kamo Cricket Club is not well known but local knowledge has cricket being played at the club in the very early 1900s.

Today the club is one of the largest in the region and fosters cricket at all levels.

The club has employed an international professional coach over the last 8 to 10 years.  This resource has been used to promote cricket in all of the local schools; Kamo Primary. Hurapaki Primary, Kauri Primary, Matarau Primary, Tikipunga Primary, Totara Grove Primary, Glenbervie Primary, Ngunguru Primary, Kamo Intermediate, Huanui Private School and Kamo High School. The coaches have been from England, Scotland, Zimbabwe and from within NZ.


The Kamo Cricket Club is an incorporated society and affiliated with The Northland Cricket Association and in turn to the Northern Districts and NZ Cricket Associations.


The club is working strongly with the Kamo Tennis Club to establish new club rooms on the Kamo Recreation Reserve.  This project is anticipated to be completed by 2019.  

In recent years the club has enjoyed an extension to and surface upgrade to its practice facilities making them an importatnt asset to the club for player practice, coaching and development.
