The Kapiti Softball Club (Inc) was founded in 1976, it was known at the time as the Gold Coast Softball Club and were affiliated to the Horowhenua Softball Association. They joined the Wellington Softball Association (Inc) and became Kapiti Softball Club (Inc). The clubrooms were built in 1982/83, after some good meeting’s with the Council and town planning they were given permission to build on top of the Council’s Toilet Block. This was built totally by volunteers, a great achievement on their behalf.

It was started by families and people such as the Cullen’s, O’Hara’s, Barne Parnell’s, Lyn Murdock, Gaskins, Jeff Real and Doug Fake in its first year.

Over the years KSC has had teams in Major Reserve, both Men and Women, and they achieved Premier 1 Men status in 1996. They also have had two Presidents Teams playing in the same grade and teams in many other grades, KSC has always had a strong Junior Club over the years. In the 2007/08 season, the Premier 1 Mens team came 5th in the Club Nationals on the North Shore.
