Sport at Kenakena School
At Kenakena School, we believe sport plays an important role in developing confident, connected, and active learners. We encourage all students to get involved, try new activities, and enjoy being part of a team.
Our Approach to Sport
Sport at Kenakena focuses on participation, teamwork, and skill development. Whether students are new to a sport or already experienced, our programmes aim to build confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude toward physical activity.
How to Register
All sports registrations for Netball and Touch are completed online through Sporty.
Important:
Registration is a two-step process:
- Complete the Sporty registration form
- Provide permission and complete payment through Hero
Both steps must be completed for your child to be eligible to play.
Payments
Kenakena School operates a “No Pay, No Play” policy.
All fees must be paid by the stated due date given by school for each sport to confirm participation.
If payment is not received by the deadline, your child may not be able to take part.
Key Dates
Each sport has specific registration and payment deadlines. These will be communicated via Hero and the school newsletter.
Please note:
- Late registrations may not be accepted
- Teams are formed shortly after school closing dates
Uniforms and Equipment
Some sports require specific uniforms or equipment. Information about this will be provided once teams are confirmed.
Communication
All sports notices, updates, and draws are shared through Hero. Please ensure your contact details are up to date, so you don’t miss important information.
Spectators
If you’re a spectator parent, please set a good example. Fun is by far the most prevalent reason given for children’s participation in sport.
“Be a Sport. Show your Support”
• Encourage your child, and other people’s children, in their efforts in sport
• Insist that your child plays within the rules and plays fairly
• Respect your child’s efforts the same regardless of whether s/he has won or lost
• Display self-control on the side line. Always be positive. Do not ridicule players or shout at
them in a negative fashion.
• Watch your child play and let him/her enjoy the game
If you have any questions about sports at Kenakena School, please contact the school office.
We look forward to seeing our students active, engaged, and enjoying their sport!
