Tip for the week.
How many times do bowlers stand on the mat, deliver the bowl no where near the jack, wave their hands in the air and say "what happened there?" or "I haven't got any idea what's going on".
Peter Bellis's pre-shot routine. Every player needs to follow this method.
Look at the head and decide what bowl you are going to play.
Visualize the result the perfect bowl would bring.
Stand and think about it for 1-2 seconds, don't rush.
As you step out with your lead foot, say out loud, in your mind or under your breath, STEP. Then say BOWL at the exact moment the bowl leaves your hand.
Slowly step forward off the mat, stand still, watch your bowl, then make the required adjustments for the next bowl.
Repeat this pre-shot routine with every shot
Also remember, the faster the green, the slower your swing. Again under your breath say "slow down".
