As well as timed and measured events on club nights, our athletes take part in Interclub competitions around the Wellington region, and the North and South Island Colgate Games. These events are for all children aged 7-15.

At a representative level, leading LHAAC athletes are selected to represent Wellington at inter-provincial meetings – these are for athletes aged 12 and up.

Lower Hutt Medal Day

This is a fun interclub event for children aged 5-15. We host the event at Hutt Rec on Monday 22 January (Wellington Anniversary Day), starting 10am. Medals are awarded for first three placings in all track heats and field events. Kids go home jingling.

All our members are encouraged to participate in this event, particularly those who have considered competing but not yet taken the step into an interclub. As well as competing, we ask members to bring a plate of home-baked goods to sell at our cake stall. We also need club members/parents to assist with setup, running events and food sales, and take-down at the end of the day. Your help will be appreciated.

The event is open to members and non-members alike. So if you have family or friends who might want to give athletics a go, bring them along. This year we also have extra events for 5 and 6 year olds.

Pre-entry is required. Entry is on the day and costs $10 to enter as many events you wish for your age group.  The registration desk will open at 9am, and the event is usually finished by 1.30pm.

The day will be cash-only (no eftpos), so bring your coins.
