Mahurangi East Bowling Club
Our club was formed in 1985 and has been an important part of the community ever since.
Mahurangi East Bowling club is nestled in quiet surroundings, in the beach resort of Snells Beach just outside Warkworth. The club has a 'mixed' membership both in terms of sex and ages!!
We have two artificial carpet greens ( one installed April 2019) allowing members to enjoy year round bowling. In 2018 the Kawau Bay Fishing Club joined with us and use our club as their Headquarters. They organise a very popular and successful Thursday evening each week when fundraising raffles are held. This is accompanied by the weekly club members draw and on the last Thursday of each month a free sausage & chip meal is provided free of charge.
Bowling
If you are looking to participate in a new sporting activity - we offer Bowls that accomodates all levels of interest. This be whether you are a competitive bowler for which we offer great competitions and the opportunity to compete against other clubs in the North Harbour region. OR a social bowler who is looking for with great conviviality. You will find it here at our friendly club not far from the sea at Snells Beach. Regular tournaments are held throughout the year on a Tuesday.
There are also both club and open competitions plus the chance to play in our inter club teams We offer free coaching for members There are Friday and Sunday afternoon Roll Ups Twilight Business Bowls This very popular event is held in November and again in March The competition runs for 4 Wednesday evenings starting at 6pm The bar is open and food is available from our BBQ
Petanque
Our Petanque members meet each Sunday afternoon for a very popular and social couple of hours of Petanque on the Terrains situated behind our clubrooms Social Social events are held throughout the year Our bar is open every day from 4pm with the exception of Monday and Wednesday.
