For any rider interested in trialling for a place in the MWC Area PC Team for Eventing Champs
You need to :
- Read the document “MWC Rider Information for Champs”. If you wish to proceed with applying to trial then;
- Read the documents ‘Rider Contract’ and ‘Code of Conduct’, get both forms signed off. NOTE: The ‘Rider Contract” has to be signed off by your Club DC confirming that you have your Club’s permission to enter and have met the eligibility criteria.

- Send a list of your results for any One Day Events you have entered in this season on the horse you wish to trial on, including DR scores, and XC & SJ faults to your DC and to MWC Area Secretary.
- Post your signed off ‘Rider Contract’ and ‘Code of Conduct’ forms and $100 commitment fee to MWC Area Secretary. Cheque made out to Manawatu West Coast Area Pony Club.
- Read the NZPCA's Champs rules (these have not been updated this season so any updates will be on this link, but we will keep you informed) Click here
- If you have met or will have met all the eligibility criteria to trial before the date of the first trial.
- If you haven’t meet all the necessary criteria to trial then you can apply for a dispensation from the MWC Area Pony Club. All dispensations should be in writing to the Secretary outlining why you wish to be considered for dispensation (can be emailed).
Area Trial Guidelines1. Riders are responsible for entering the
correct class and
paying the entry fee. A rider can only trial two horses.
Please email a copy of your entry to your DC and the MWC Area Secretary. 2. If you are riding another horse at the same level, then
the trialling horse must ride first. It is the rider's responsibility to notify the HB Event Secretary that you want to ride this horse first.
3. Riders wear jackets and stock or tie (must be white or cream) for dressage, Club colours for XC and SJ (including a tie).
4. Riders must have completed and signed the Area Trial Contract and Code of Conduct (attached), and paid their $100 commitment fee
before the start of the trial.
5. Riders must have completed the necessary pre-trials
before the start of competition. If the rider hasn't then they may apply for dispensation before the start of the trial.
