The Marlins made rugby league history in 2005 by scrapping in to make 5th Place in the Fox Memorial playoffs and then going on to win their first ever Fox Memorial Grand Final

In 2006 the going was hard with the loss of 13 of their Fox winning team but with Rusty Matua again at the helm he started a new generation of players and came out to win the Sharman Cup with a new and improved more junior team.

In 2007 the Marlins entered the Inaugural ARL ('s Tournament and struggled to make the Championship round. In doing that they took out the first title of Inaugural ARL 9's Tournament.

Again they struggled to make Fox in 2007 and got in by its teeth. Major struggle in the first few rounds saw them wallowing at the bottom of the table for weeks, then from out of nowhere they came back. finishing 4th in the Top five and proving to be hitting it well coming through the semi finals unscathed and meeting old rivals the Papakura Sea Eagles in the Final, unfortunately for the Eagles they were again the bridesmaids for their 4th grand final.

2008 has seen an even bigger struggle with the injuries taking its toll and losing yet again more juniors to Australia. Unfortunately not making the Fox but again as luck would have it making the Sharman Cup Grand Final and beaten by Richmond Rovers.

2009 Made the Fox but finished at the bottom of the table as with 2010 also struggled to get points and again finishing bottom of the table.

2010 saw the marlins again in the Fox but with another year of struggling to keep off the bottom of the table. Aside from that the Marlins recorded a record 55 registered playing teams in the Auckland Competition the largest number recorded in the whole of New Zealand. 2011 looks to be yet another year of increased number and a whole lot of great new progammes for the community kids.

The Marlins have struggled to keep in the top 6 of the Fox in the last couple of years and in 2012 have been relegated back to Sharman Cup, maybe this is what they need to see who is loyal and rebuild yet again. A very proud club with growth beyond their dreams.
