Sports Awards 2024

On Tuesday 15th October, Marist College held their first Junior Sports Prizegiving for our Year 7 and 8 sporting stars.

There are 217 Year 7 & 8 students enrolled this year and from that 139 play sport!

We had 161 students that participated at various Central Zone one-day tournaments and 50 students represented Marist at AIMS Games in Tauranga this year.

Marist have many talented young athletes therefore it was only fitting that our Junior students were recognised at their very own sports prizegiving.

The following evening was our Senior Sports Awards. A whopping 64% of our Year 9 - 13 play sport.

It was a fantastic night with entertainment, live music, food & drinks and guest speakers, Helen Clarke (former NZ Hockey goalkeeper and captain) and Kaiya Brown (National Samoan Olympic swimmer)

Both events were superb in not only acknowledging our young sportswomen but also the wonderful coaches, managers, staff and supporters that make our teams possible.

The future of Marist Sport is looking bright.
