Earlier this month the Marist Saints honoured club stalwarts Ann Lipscombe and David Telea by awarding them Life Membership.
The pair received their honour over Queen's Birthday Weekend and are described as epitomising the central Auckland club's values. In the case of Ann, her service to the Saints stretches back to the 1960s as she supported sons Anthony and Paul during their time playing in the junior grades, alongside her late husband Ross who himself was a long-serving club volunteer.
She became a committee member in the 1980s and began a stretch in which he held numerous positions at the club, including treasurer and secretary. David played for Marist for the majority of his childhood, having a break through his high school years before returning to play U19s, U21s and reserve-grade footy for the Saints.
A committee member since 1997, much like Ann he has held a number of executive positions in this time, including being president, and he is the current club treasurer.
