Welcome to NZPCA and Marlborough, Nelson, West Coast Area Pony Club (MNWC) Eventing Championship 2025, first newsletter.

An invitation to Area Teams and Individuals riders from all areas of New Zealand to the NZPCA Eventing Champs 24th to 27th April 2025.  We are lucky enough to have the lovely use of the Marlborough Equestrian Park (MEP) in Blenheim which will host the Welcome, Dressage, Show Jumping, Prizegiving and the Closing Ceremony.

Cross-country will be set 45 minutes away at Seddon on the rolling hills, among the vineyards on the picturesque “Redwood” Farm with kind permission of Trish & Chris Redwood.

MEP offers non-powered camping, hot showers, and toilets.  Local accommodation nearby. (We are currently working on a list of accommodation which will be available soon).  For the horses/ponies 194 lovely big open and 54 covered yards, saw dust, wash bays, manure bins, fresh water. (We are working on a list of farm stays for horses/ponies, for those who may be traveling South/North for competitions before champs, more details on this to come).

Fundraising and sponsorship are underway, to bring the cross country jumps up to National Standard, a lovely new water jump complex, several new jumps, funding for travel to help you all, etc.

NZPCA Champs Classes are as follows:

• MT Mark Todd Challenge Trophy Division NZPC 95cm: Riding Members 16 years and under as at the 1st August

• DC Dorothy Campbell Challenge Trophy Division NZPC 105cm: Riding Members 20 years and under as at the 1st August

• A1 Division NZPC 110cm: Riding Members 24 years and under as of the day of competition

To be eligible for the teams, all riders will be required to have NQS at the division entering (or above).  These are being updated and will be shared by NZPCA, in the near future.       (Start training now).

“Exciting News” to following, regarding an 80cm class.

MNWC Area are looking at a maximum of 45 riders per class, so it is important to get those entries in early.

MNWC will be host a Non-Champ’s Individual Competition for the 80cm, 95cm, 105cm and 110cm riders.  Maximum of 45 riders per class will apply here too.

We are working on the catering, evening meals, food available for purchase from Thursday to Sunday during the day at both grounds. More on this later.

Introducing Felicity Hart Organising Committee Chairperson, and Michelle Campbell as our Events Secretary. We will introduce more of the committee next time. 9 Months to go!!!
