TEAM SIZE

The ideal number is 9-10 players. There are 7 on the field at one time. 1 goalie and 6 players on the field.

PRE SEASON AND YEAR 7&8 FUN DAY 

March 24th- Preseason give it a go day and fun Pizza Lunch at NHS 9.30am-12.30pm. This session is open to all, returning players, new to Hockey players and those who wish to give it a go. (Senior Hockey trials are straight after, we encourage players to stay behind afterwards and have a look at what Hockey at a Senior level can look like)

March 27th- 6pm-7pm in the cultral centre there will be an Information evening for those intrested in our Hockey program for 2024. An oppertunity to ask questions and get a better understanding of what is on offer.

April 7th- 10-11.30am will be Preaseason session #2 on the Marsden school turf. This session is open to students who want to play Hockey for Marsden in 2024.

GAME LENGTH

4 x 12-minute quarters, with 2-minute breaks in between.

COMPETITION

AIMS GAMES               

A Year 7 & 8 team will be attending AIMS Games in Tauranga at the end of the season. This has been a huge success in the past, and it is a great experience for the girls.

The process for selections will be confirmed in early 2024.

The expected cost will be approximately $1,300 - this will be confirmed once the team has been selected.

PRACTICES

Wednesday 3.45-5pm Marsden Turf ​​​​​​​

UNIFORM
Sublimated sports skirt or PE Shorts, PE top, green socks with a blue top

Tracksuits are required for getting to and from the game, and warm-ups.

EQUIPMENT
Players must have their own hockey stick, shin pads, and mouth-guard. These items can be purchased from sports shops, but if you need any assistance please contact the Sports Office.

SAFETY
Mouth-guard and shin pads are compulsory for all practices and games.  Players will NOT be allowed to play or practice unless they have a mouth-guard.
