Terms 2 and 3.

TEAM SIZE

The ideal numbers for teams are to have 10 players, to cover sickness, injuries, or absences, but that is not always possible. Some teams may end up with as little as 8, and some teams could be as large as 12.

There are 7 on the court at one time.

GAME LENGTH

Senior A play 4 x 15-minute quarters, with 2-minute breaks in between.

All other teams play 4 x 10-minute quarters, with 2-minute breaks in between.

COST
Senior A $335, Senior B & Junior A Teams $330.00.

All Other Senior & Junior Teams  $240.00. Including Referee costs 

Senior A will have added costs for tournaments.

Junior A will have added costs for Junior Pentangular Tournament.

SOCIAL NETBALL (Years 11 - 13 ONLY)

In order to play social Netball, you must have a minimum of 10 students in the team plus a parent manager/s who will be available to attend fixtures weekly. Teams will not be entered into the weekly competition without a parent manager.

All students wanting to play social Netball need to register individually, and write down who you would like in your team.

Each social team will have to organise their own umpire for the season.

If you would like to play social but don't have a team we can arrange a team for you. Social teams do not need to trial but are welcome to attend the pre-season sessions.

PRESEASON

In 2025, we are looking at holding a preseason training programme run at Marsden leading up to trials.

More information will be made available in early 2025.  The cost for this will be $50 per student.

TRIALS

All Marsden, netball registrants are required to make a minimum of 2 out of the 3 netball trials for their age group. If you are unable to make one of the trials, you must notify the Sports Department at least 1 week prior to the first trial date.

COMPETITION (Draft Season Dates)

Please note: Marsden have a three (3) week break in the July holidays. Netball Games are still played on the last weekend of the holidays 

COLLEGE SPORT WELLINGTON EVENTS

PRACTICES

All teams will have 1-2 trainings per week. These will be set by the coach once teams have been announced. Trainings will be before school, during lunchtime, or after school.

TOURNAMENT WEEK

If you are named in Senior A, you will be attending Tournament Week in September. Dates for this are still yet to be confirmed. 

UNIFORM         

Senior A - Senior A dress, Marsden bike shorts, white socks, and appropriate footwear.

All other teams - Sublimated netball skirt, blue sleeveless collared top, white socks, and appropriate footwear.

Players are permitted to wear dark blue thermals under their playing uniform on colder days

ALL PLAYERS are expected to turn up to games in their Marsden hoodie, and tracksuit pants.

COACHING       

Senior students are encouraged to coach junior teams. The Sports Office really appreciates the time that senior girls put into their teams and the juniors love having older students coach them. If you are interested in coaching please register here.
