PRESEASON TRAINING INFORMATION

Samuel Marsden and Boost Netball, run by Efi Fa'atau, have combined to bring Marsden students the ultimate preseason netball preparation. Each session is designed to be age group-specific and will cater to all levels of athlete. 

These sessions are optional, and while being a great opportunity to have fun, and meet new friends while upskilling for the season, they are not compulsary and not attending will in no way affect team selections. 

COST

➢ $50 per student (this will be charged to your daughters' school account)

PROGRAMME WILL COVER

➢ Skills – general ball-handling skills and footwork

➢ Fitness – speed and endurance, strength and conditioning

➢ Gameplay – positional play and movement on the court

➢ Resilience – simple techniques to remain focused under pressure

INDICATIVE PROGRAMME

➢ A tailored programme will be delivered for each of the following age groups:

            o Year 7 – 8

            o Year 9 – 10

            o Year 11 – 13

➢ 3 clinics in total will be delivered per age group 

➢ Each clinic will be 2 hours in total. Efi will be available for 15 minutes after each clinic to talk with parents and/or players who are seeking feedback and a 30 minute debrief after the conclusion of the 3 week programme. 

➢ A maximum number of 20 participants per clinic

➢ Each session will focus on fitness, skills, and gameplay

Year 9&10

Saturday 17th, 24th Feb, 2nd March 1.15pm-3.15pm 

Year 11-13

Saturday 17th, 24th Feb, 2nd March 3.30pm-5.30pm 

OUTCOMES

➢ Players will be better prepared for the Samuel Marsden Collegiate School 2024 Netball season. Players who put in the effort will benefit from increased fitness levels, improved ball handling and footwork skills, and a greater understanding of court play.
