TEAM SIZE
The ideal numbers for teams are to have 10 players, to cover sickness, injuries, or absences, but that is not always possible. Some teams may end up with as little as 8, and some teams could be as large as 12.
There are 7 on the court at one time.
GAME LENGTH
4 x 10-minute quarters, with 2-minute breaks in between.
COST
$160
PRESEASON - Cost $50 per student
In 2022, there will be a 6-week preseason training programme run at Marsden leading up to trials. Click on the 'Preseason Training' tab at the top of the screen for more information.
Year 7&8 will also have a netball fun day with some of the senior netball students. This is an opportunity for the girls to come together and mix with girls that they may end up playing within the season:

TRIALS
Year 7 & 8 trials will be held together. Please arrive 15mins early to register and warm up.
All trials will be held in the NEW GYM.

AIMS GAMES
K1 (top Year 7&8 team) will be attending AIMS Games in Tauranga at the end of the season. This has been a huge success in the past, and it is a great experience for the girls.
Additional costs will be associated for the girls involved.

PRACTICES
Up to 2 practices per week; duration, day and time dependent on the availability of the courts and coach.
UNIFORM
Sublimated netball skirt (available from uniform shop), blue sleeveless collared top, white socks and appropriate footwear.
Tracksuits or Marsden hoodie are required for getting to and from the game, and warm-ups.
Players are permitted to wear dark blue thermals under their playing uniform on colder days
All of these items can be purchased from the Uniform Shop.
SAFETY
Each girl must have nails trimmed, hair tied back, no jewellery, and suitable footwear for both practice and the game. A named drink bottle should be taken to the games.
